State Visit of the President of India to Equatorial Guinea, Swaziland and Zambia (April 7-12, 2018)

President Shri Ram Nath Kovind , will pay a State Visit to Equatorial Guinea, Swaziland and Zambia on 7th -12th April, 2018. This visit is the first ever visit of HOS/HOG of India to Equatorial Guinea and Swaziland. The Presidential Visit to Zambia is taking place after 29 years. The President is accompanied by the First Lady and Minister of State for Road Transport, Highways & Shipping, Chemicals & Fertilizers, Shri Mansukh Mandavia and two Members of Parliament.  At the invitation of His Excellency, Mr. Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, the President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, the President will pay a State visit to Equatorial Guinea from April 7th to 9th, 2018. He will address the Parliament of Equatorial Guinea on 8th April, 2018 after meeting his counterpart, delegation level talks. Indian Naval Sailing Vessel (INSV) Tarini flagged off by Ms Ruchira Kamboj, High Commissioner of India to the Republic of South Africa

Indian Naval Sailing Vessel (INSV) Tarini left Cape Town on 14 Mar, 2018 for the final leg of circumnavigation passage to Goa. The yacht was flagged off by Ms Ruchira Kamboj, High Commissioner of India to the Republic of South Africa,  Mr Abhishek Shukla, Counsel General of India in Cape Town, South Africa & Ms Auroux Marais, Minister of Cultural Affairs & Sports, Western Cape Government, members of Indian diaspora and South African Sailing Association. INSV Tarini had arrived at Cape Town on 02 March 18 after completion of fourth leg of her maiden voyage to circumnavigate the globe. This historic circumnavigation attempt by an all-women crew is being led by Lieutenant Commander Vartika Joshi, and the crew comprises Lieutenant Commanders Pratibha Jamwal, P Swathi, and Lieutenants S Vijaya Devi, B Aishwarya and Payal Gupta.              The crew had several engagements during their stay at Cape Town, including a formal call-on HE Ms Ruchika Kamboj, High Commissioner

Cabinet apprised of an MoU between India and Guyana on cooperation in Renewable Energy

The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has been apprised of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation in Renewable Energy between India and Guyana. The MoU was signed on 30 th  January, 2018 in New Delhi by Shri R. K. Singh, Minister of State (IC) for Power and New and Renewable Energy (NRE) and H.E. Mr. Carl B. Greenidge, 2 nd Vice President and the Foreign Minister of the Co-operative, Guyana. Both sides aim to establish the basis for a cooperative institutional relationship to encourage and promote technical bilateral cooperation on new and renewable energy issues on the basis of mutual benefit, equality and reciprocity. The MoU envisages establishing a Joint Working Committee to review, monitor and discuss matters relation to areas of cooperation. The MoU aims for exchange of expertise and networking of information. The Memorandum of Understanding will help in strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

INSV Tarini departs Port Stanley, Falklands for its onwards journey to Cape Town

Indian Naval Sailing Vessel (INSV) Tarini left Port Stanley on 04 Feb 18 for its onwards journey to Cape Town (South Africa). INSV Tarini had arrived at Port Stanley on 21 January 2018 after completion of third leg of it’s maiden voyage to circumnavigate the globe. This historic circumnavigation attempt by an all-women crew is being led by Lieutenant Commander Vartika Joshi, and the crew comprises Lieutenant Commanders Pratibha Jamwal, P Swathi, and Lieutenants S Vijaya Devi, B Aishwarya and Payal Gupta.     Mr Nigel Philips, CBE, Governor of the Falkland Islands and her Majesty’s Commissioner of South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands welcomed Tarini into Port Stanley on 21 January 2018. The India International Institute of Democracy and Election Management (IIIDEM) organized a special visit for foreign delegates from Election Management Bodies and International Organizations at its upcoming state-of-the-art campus in Dwarka, Delhi. Participating Dignitaries from Australia, Bhutan, Guinea, Moldova, Zambia and representatives from International IDEA and IFES visited the campus and learnt about the various facilities provided by IIIDEM. Delegates at the new IIIDEM campus, New Delhi  Deputy Election Commissioner Mr. Sudeep Jain gave an overview of the new IIIDEM campus to the delegates. Highlighting the features and facilities, Mr. Jain said that the Institutional Block of the campushas a capacity to hold trainings for 1,000 people in 12 batches simultaneously.
