Brilliant performance by Indian players at Commonwealth Wrestling Championship organised at Johannesburg, South Africa

Indian Team of wrestlers bagged 59 medals and out of these, 20 medals were contributed by Indian Railway wrestlers including   Shri Sushil Kumar   &   Ms. Sakshi Malik ,  both Olympic medalists. With continuing its winning spree and rich sports heritage, Indian Railways’ athletes have once again brought laurels to the nation in recently concluded Commonwealth Wrestling Championship at Johannesburg, South Africa from 15 to 17 th  December, 2017, out of 60 players,(Men & Women) 20 players were from Indian Railways. Indian Team of wrestlers bagged 59 medals and out of these, 20 medals were contributed by Indian Railway wrestlers including Shri Sushil Kumar & Ms. Sakshi Malik , both Olympic medalists. The President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, graced and addressed the India-Ethiopia Business Dialogue, organised to commemorate the 12th Anniversary of the India Business Forum in Addis Ababa today (October 5, 2017).  Speaking on the occasion, the President said that Ethiopia and India have been trading with each other for centuries. Trade relations between Ethiopia and India flourished during the ancient Axumite Empire from the 1st century AD. Today the economic relationship covers trade, private investment, concessional loans for infrastructure projects and development assistance, largely for capacity building. (Photo Courtesy: PIB) Cabinet approves Agreement between India and Somalia on transfer of sentenced persons  The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has given its approval for signing and subsequent ratification of the Agreement on Transfer of sentenced persons between India and Somalia. Signing the Agreement with Somalia shall facilitate the Indian prisoners imprisoned in Somalia or vice-versa to be near to their families, for serving remaining part of their sentence and shall facilitate their social rehabilitation. INSV TARINI with all-women Naval officers crew reaches Mauritius

 Indian Naval Sailing Vessel Tarini entered Port Louis harbour, Mauritius at 1300 hrs  today on her maiden visit to the island nation since induction in the Indian Navy in Feb 17. Tarini is the sister Vessel of Indian Navy's first sailing Vessel INSV Mhadei, that has numerous accomplishments to her name. INSV Tarini is 55 feet in length and built in India in line with the ‘Make in India’ initiative of the Indian Navy, fructified by M/s Aquarius Shipyard, Goa.    The Vessel is skippered by Lieutenant Commander Vartika Joshi (a Naval Architect) and the all-women Naval officers crew comprising Lieutenant Commander Pratibha Jamwal, Lieutenants P Swathi, Vijaya Devi, Payal Gupta and B Aishwarya.
